HISTORY

PACS Architecture was founded in 2011, as a partnership between Paul Capece, AIA and Alex Shkreli, RA. The partners began their long history of collaboration as undergraduates, and later worked collaboratively for almost a decade at two esteemed nyc architecture firms. It was during these formative years that the future partners honed their skills executing both custom interior residential and commercial designs, and large-scale buildings. Now supported by an ever-growing staff of exceptionally talented young architects, the firm has developed into a nimble entity capable of expertly and efficiently executing designs of various typologies, styles, and sizes.

PHILOSOPHY

We are committed to designing buildings and spaces that exhibit each client’s individuality, while respecting the unique context of each project. Our projects span many typologies and styles, but central to our approach is a belief that functionality and user comfort are critical to the success of any work of architecture.

APPROACH

While quality of design and execution is absolutely primary to us, we feel that our ability to shepherd the design process with specific attention to the clients end goal and budget is our greatest strength. We are full service architecture firm offering a wide array of professional services on projects ranging from custom interiors to large developments. Once engaged, we have the ability to handle the entire process from pre-design services through project completion. Over three decades of collective project management experience in new york city and the surrounding areas has allowed us to establish a rich network of consultants and contractors suited to tackle any challenge.

PAUL CAPECE

A co-founder of PACS Architecture, Paul Capece has spent the past fifteen years practicing architecture with over a decade of experience managing design and construction on a wide range of project types. His completed projects range in scope from new civic buildings, to multi-family condominium developments, to single-family residences. A balance of contemporary expression and contextual relevance is key to his design philosophy. Many of Paul’s projects have involved complex programming, phasing, and green design components, including the LEED Platinum-rated Queens Botanical Garden Visitor & Administration Center, which he managed throughout construction as the project architect for BKSK Architects. This project is particularly of note as it won several design awards including the AIA NY “Best in New York State” Award of Excellence for 2008. Additionally, Paul spearheads business development for the firm.

ALEX SHKRELI

Prior to co-founding PACS Architecture in 2011, Alex Shkreli headed his own firm, Alex Shkreli Architect, where he designed and managed the construction of a number of luxury residential and commercial projects. Between 2000 and 2005, Alex worked at BKSK Architects, where he managed several traditional and transitional high-end residential projects in addition to a number of award-wining restorations of historic buildings. During this period, he gained hands-on experience and a broad knowledge of building and zoning codes. Later, as a project manager for Francois de Menil Architects, he oversaw the development of a series of modern single-family residential projects and developments in both New York City and Houston, TX. Through his work over the last fifteen years, Alex has developed a distinctive modern aesthetic and a passion for finding the best possible solution to every design problem.
